At the Summer Beach
Woo Am Lee
Sitting in the shade, sheltered
from the sun, gazing at the sea,
Waves whisper with the wind,
calm, tender, unreturning.
Summer brims with profound joy,
as clouds display their artworks.
The sea and sandy beach alike
are filled with shout and laughter
Tall palm trees sway and sing
above the gentle breeze.
Yet beyond these shores, wars rage—
how tragic, amid such peace.
It's actually Korean Sijo in English
